Where exactly do our bodies end and the universe begin?

Technology is increasingly becoming an interface between us humans and our surroundings. Space observation is perhaps the most extreme example of this.

The further into deep space we are able to see, more advanced technology is necessary to be able to do this. As this happens, our bodily understanding of what we see is lost and what we are left with is essentiallly representations through images, symbols and numbers.

But as technology replaces human presence it might be that while attempting to see what lies furthest from ourselves, we are increasingly observing ourselves, our own methods and technology in the process.
